Part P of the Building Regulations is often misunderstood, especially by householders.
We are often asked … should all electrical work be Part P notified, who should notify and where do you notify?
What certificates should the householder receive from the electrician, and how do they know that they are getting the correct paperwork.
There are lots of stories of householders not being given any certificates and then having to pay for an additional inspection and test, costing hundreds of pounds, from a second electrician just to get a certificate so that they can sell their house.
Hopefully, this short video will act as a reminder to those electricians that only carry out Part P work occasionally and as a reassurance to householders for them to know exactly what certificates they must have and should be given by the electrician.
