Just how long is that cable? How often have we thought that.
Have you ever wondered just how far that ring circuit might actually travel.
Is it just a short circuit around the kitchen or is it long, long, long and stretching around most of the house.
Or it might be a part reel of cable. Is there enough on the reel to finish the job or should we drive to the wholesalers and buy a full reel. If only there was a way of measuring the length without removing all the cable from the reel.
We will show you in this video how to easily convert the resistance measurement of the cable into a quite accurate determination of the length.
A downloadable PDF of the calculation table used in this video is available on our website.
Our website is LearnElectrics dot com – on the home page is a search box, type in P115 and the table will come up.
A few lines below the table there is a downloadable link for you to print your own colour copy of the table.
