This video look specifically at the electrical safety zones in showers, including wet rooms, in this simple approach to understanding what the regulations are telling us. If you are new to this, we hope to improve your knowledge base with regards to the shower zones and for the more experienced, it may act as reminder on some points.
Using easy to follow drawings we explain the different requirements in order that we comply with the Wiring Regulations.
The video follows the guidance in Amendment 2 of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, BS7671, as a result of changes that were made and we cover these here. This is the BROWN book, and some of the regulations will be different to the old BLUE book. The on-site guide is also brown and the electricians guide to the building regulations will have a brown stripe across the front cover
And do expect exam questions on the changes to the regulations and we will highlight where 18th Edition exam questions may catch you out with the changes. Questions on the zones and IP ratings will almost always appear in electrical exams and assessments where domestic circuits are part of the course.
